Is the Ford F-150 Tough Enough?
How much can the F-150 really handle? Ford asked and the world answered with 15,000 submissions with suggestions on how to to prove that “Built Ford Tough” is more than just a tagline.
Four lucky winners were chosen to use their criteria to demonstrate the toughness of the 2015 F-150 Lariat 3.5-liter EcoBoost® 4×4 in different regions of North America.
The first winner, a systems engineer for military vehicle testing, recommended the F-150 complete 36 straight hours of navigating a 5.4 mile test loop in Yuma, AZ, where the truck faced such challenges as rock crawls, sand washes, and triple digit temperatures:
The three other winning tests will include hauling boulders in Oregon, towing hay bales in Montana, and driving supplies more than 900 miles from Fairbanks, Alaska into Northwest Territories, Canada. Stay tuned to Ford’s YouTube channel to see those tests in the coming weeks.
