Mazda recently announced updates and pricing for their popular, still-under-most-people’s-radar Mazda6 sedan and their CX-5 compact crossover.

CX-5

The just-refreshed 2016 CX-5 received some tweaks to the grille, headlamps, and wheels to give a bolder, tauter appearance while still demonstrating Mazda’s Soul of Motion aesthetic. Interior improvements were aimed at enhancing what they call the Human-Machine Interface. A reformatted driver-oriented Heads-up Cockpit enhances the driving experience while the design of the console and center stack were made to coordinate the interior elements into a unified design. Insulation and sound dampening decrease cabin noise by 10% over the previous model adding to occupant experience.

Mazda6

The 2016 Mazda6 refresh includes similar interior changes to those in the CX-5. The console and center stack are refined along with the instrument cluster to freshen the appearance as well as maintain the brand’s Heads-up Cockpit design. Fit and finish were addressed by minimizing gaps between parts thereby increasing the feel of quality. New LED headlamps along with a new grille and wing design for a more modern, aggressive look. Sound insulation enhances the overall feel of refinement.

The 2016 Mazda6 is available in three trim levels – Sport, Touring and Grand Touring – and is equipped with the SKYACTIV-G 2.5-liter gasoline engine. There are a number of enhancements for 2016 including bold changes to the shape of the instrument panel and floor console giving the interior a fresh new look. It fuses a driver-oriented cockpit design, based on Mazda’s unique Heads-up Cockpit concept, with a roomy front seat passenger environment. In addition, thorough attention was paid to minimizing gaps between parts and achieving an overall unified appearance, significantly enhancing the feeling of quality as befits the flagship model in the Mazda product lineup.

Refreshed exterior features include a new front grille and signature wing design. These combined with the new LED headlamps to create a bold and elegant expression that leaves a distinct impression of the evolution of the brand. Detailed refinements to dynamic performance include improved sound insulation throughout the body and improved front and rear seat performance. These enhancements yield a quieter and more comfortable riding experience.
