5 Things We Know About the Next Gen Chevrolet Cruze

General Motors has dropped some pretty big clues about what we can expect to see in the next-generation Chevrolet Cruze. Here’s what we know so far:
1.) The 2016 Cruze will connect drivers and passengers better than the previous generations. The new model will be one of the first Chevrolets to offer Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
2.) It will be bigger. Chevrolet promises a larger Cruze for 2016 that will also be lighter. There is no word yet on how this will effect fuel economy, which currently hovers around 15.6 mpg.
3.) The 2016 will drive differently. The automaker is promising new powertrains in the 2016 model. Current available engines include the ECOTEC® 1.8L DOHC, ECOTEC® 1.4L turbo, and 2.0L Turbo Diesel DOHC with a variety of transmissions with both automatic and standard options.
4.) Chevrolet says the Cruze will be more sophisticated than its competitors. But, what does sophisticated mean, really? Two-tone trim? A received pronunciation accent navigation system that makes us think the Duchess of Cambridge is telling us how to get to the closest filling station? We’ll have to wait and see.
5.) It’s debuting on June 24. You won’t have to wait much longer to find out what the next generation of the vehicle will look like but then you’ll have to wait at least six more months before you can get one with anticipated showroom arrival not until early 2016.
