The 2016 Honda Pilot has earned an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating based on two main factors- its performance in the small overlap frontal crash test and an available frontal crash prevention system.

Compared to it’s poor results in the 2014 and 2015 models, the 2016 Pilot saw passenger safety increase based on design during the small overlap frontal crash test, earning a “good” rating.

The vehicle’s frontal crash prevention system is available as part of Honda Sensing. The technology is available on Pilot EX trims and above and features Collision Mitigation Braking System with Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning and Road Departure Mitigation.
