Lexus isn’t calling it a complete overhaul of the model but the only thing R&D didn’t touch are the door panels. Already known for being luxurious yet off-road worthy, the 2016 LX 570 has a few new things families are going to love:

While it may not mean much to the passengers, drivers will certainly appreciate the automaker’s addition of LED headlights, turn signals and fog lights. They’re nestled comfortably in the meaty front end of the LX 570 which also features a new version of the brand’s signature spindle grille.

Are we there yet? Get where you’re going faster, driving the way you want with new Drive Mode Select. The system controls responses of the Adaptive Variable Suspension to give drivers the type of ride they want whether it be prioritized for fuel efficiency (ECO), a smooth ride (COMFORT), a sportier drive (SPORT) or agile handling (SPORT S+).

Just because you don’t have a truck, that doesn’t mean you can’t take the family’s jet skis to the lake with you this weekend. The 2016 LX 570 comes equipped with a 5.7-liter V8 engine produces 383 horsepower and delivers 90-percent of its 403 lb.-ft. peak torque at just 3,600 rpm. That means there’s 7,000 lbs. of towing capacity so get ready to go.

Can you see what I see? The LX 570’s new 12.3-inch navigation screen shows off a wide variety of view options to the driver and passenger, including the ability to use the new standard panoramic view camera which is especially handy when hooking up those jet skis you’ll be hauling around. Occupying your family on a road trip just got easier. A Rear Seat Entertainment System is available for MY 2016. Dual 11.6-inch screens replace the previous model’s 7.0-inch screens while second-row provides USB ports and armrest controls for the air conditioning and audio.

Safety never goes out of style. The new LX 570 comes with the Lexus Safety System + standard. That means your family is, at all times, guarded by ten airbags and a suite of driver-assist technologies including Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, Intelligent High Beam, All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Also, Lexus Enform Safety Connect is standard on all 2016 Lexus vehicles and each vehicle comes with a complimentary one-year trial subscription.

You want the look of luxury? Oh, they’ll give you look of luxury. Inside the vehicle buyers have the option of new wood trim selections including Matte Walnut, Linear Dark Mocha, Linear Espresso and Dark Brown Walnut. A classic looking (and new for 2016) three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel and a new analog clock are, which sits in a housing is carved from a single ingot of aluminum and features LED indicators. GPS functionality adjusts the time zone are standard. This is also new LED ambient lighting in the cabin and cargo area, and the overhead console lighting now operates via touch sensor.

Fighting over climate control is over. The new available Luxury Package includes ventilated front seats and, new for 2016, heated/ventilated middle row seating. The new standard Climate Concierge feature automatically monitors the temperature of the four separate climate zones and adjusts not only the fans, but also the temperature of the seats and steering wheel individually.

Fumbling for keys is a thing of the past. No longer just an option, the LX 570 comes with the SmartAccess System with key card as standard. That means, like cards issued at many workplaces, you have access to the functions usually controlled by a key with the convenience of a stored card that fits easily into your wallet.

The LX 570 is more smartphone friendly than ever before. Siri Eyes Free Mode lets iPhone users select songs from iTunes®, get turn-by-turn navigation through Apple Maps, and much more- all by asking Siri. If you have a Qi-compatible phone, the 2016 LX 570 can charge is wirelessly with the available charging tray. With new Lexus Enform Service Connect, the LX 570 can convey its maintenance needs to drivers using the MyLexusandBeyond mobile app (for iOS devices) or the LexusDrivers.com website. With Lexus Enform Remote (one-year trial subscription included), the customer can remotely view and control certain aspects of the vehicle using a mobile app for iOS and Android devices. Use it to lock or unlock the LX 570’s doors, remote start or stop the engine or climate control, locate the vehicle in a parking lot, set up guest driver monitor and more.
