Recall Alert: 2015 Jeep Renegade – Software Update

FCA is voluntarily recalling approximately 7,810 U.S.-market 2015 Jeep Renegades to update software in vehicles equipped with 6.5-inch touchscreens.

The recall is an effort to protect vehicles from remote manipulation via hacking as demonstrated in a recent WIRED article.

FCA notes it is, “unaware of any injuries related to software exploitation, nor is it aware of any related complaints, warranty claims or accidents – independent of the media demonstration.”

To complete the service, customers will receive a USB device which they may use to upgrade vehicle software, visit a dealership for a software installation or download the update via the link here as early as September 5.

More than half remain in dealer hands and will be serviced before they are sold.

Owners with questions or concerns about the recall are encouraged to call the FCA US Customer Care Center at 1-800-853-1403.
