Toyota Gives Prius C Safety Upgrades, Special Edition for 2016

The Prius is all-new for 2016 and now Toyota has announced that its smaller sister is getting a safety upgrade and special edition for MY 2016 as well.
Safety Upgrades
The new-for-2016 Toyota Safety Sense-C system (TSS-C) equips the car with driver-assist technologies: Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Assist, and Automatic High Beams. In addition the Prius c is equipped with nine airbags strategically located to help protect the driver and passengers in the event of severe collisions. Like all 2016 Toyota models, the Prius c is equipped with the standard Star Safety System, which includes Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Anti-lock Brake System, Electronic Brake Force Distribution, Brake Assist, and Smart Stop technologies.
Special Edition
Just 1,500 units of the Prius c Persona Series Special Edition will go on sale in December. This distinctive model is billed as more playful than the traditional c comes exclusively in Black, with a choice of two unique color accents: Electric Lime and Cherry Pearl. The contrast color accents can be found on the lower front grille trim, beneath the headlights and on trim beneath the side windows. The accents also cover the outside power mirrors and interior rear-view mirror shell. The Special Edition also includes 15-inch black alloy wheels and a custom “Persona Series” badge.
Additionally, Special Edition buyers will find their new car equipped with fabric-trimmed two-tone seats; 6-way adjustable driver’s seat; 60/40 split fold-down rear seats; cruise control, a cargo area cover and engine immobilizer.
