Toyota Refreshes RAV4’s Styling and Drive for 2016

You wanted a hybrid RAV4 and Toyota has now given it to you. With that, they’ve refreshed the exterior styling, technology, safety offerings, handing options and comfort level for MY 2016.
The snoot nose of the RAV4 stays (sigh) and becomes bolder with the addition of LED headlights, daytime running lights and Hi-Lo Headlights. Toyota has added rocker panels to the sides of the RAV4 to “sharpen the sides and tie in the restyled front and rear bumpers for a more flowing profile.” The shark fin antenna is standard on all models.
Three exterior colors have been added to buyers options including Silver Sky Metallic, Black Currant Metallic and Electric Storm Blue.
For MY 2016 the RAV4 has boosted its technology options with an available 4.2-inch TFT multi-information display, and an available 7-inch touch-sensitive display audio touch screen. Additionally, LED illumination has been added to the lower center console, a 12V power outlet added to the rear area, a new holder for sunglasses and a revised cup holder design to hold tall mugs with handles.
The 2016 RAV4 is safer for families, adding Toyota Safety Sense (TSS), a new multi-feature advanced safety package anchored by automated pre-collision braking. TSS is standard on Limited grades (gas and Hybrid) and available on XLE (gas and Hybrid) and SE grades.
Added convenience technologies for MY 2016 include Smart Key, standard on SE and Limited (gas and Hybrid) grades, a Homelink® garage door opener (standard on Limited gas and Hybrid grades) and a new Bird’s Eye View Camera with Perimeter Scan.
For 2016, the RAV4 XLE and SE feature the standard Scout® GPS Link cell phone-based navigation system (available on LE).
If you’d prefer a sportier drive with your new RAV4, the SE trim level features a new sport-tuned suspension, 18-inch alloy wheels, paddle shifters for the six-speed automatic transmission, LED headlights and taillights, exclusive bumper and lower grill design, the S-Code paint design, SofTex®-trimmed seats, a choice of two interior colors (Black and Black/Cinnamon), Black headliner, Black A&B-pillar covers, sport floor mats and door sill protectors and Gunmetal Gray trim.
Toyota has confirmed that front and rear shock absorbers and coils have been retuned in all RAV4 grades, “to help enhance stability and increase comfort.” The SE grade receives unique sport-tuned shock absorbers and coils for enhanced sport driving composure.
