5 Things Families Will Love About the 2017 Mercedes GLS

Mercedes has done more than just give the GLS a facelift for MY 2017. Among the highlights of the revised model are these five things families will love:

The drive is better. Let’s face it, it’s not always about hauling around the kids. The new generation of GLS features additional DYNAMIC SELECT transmission modes over its predecessor’s offerings, improved air suspension system with enhanced damping system and a nine-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission. The GLS reaches a pique output of 577 mph which means getting up to speed on the highway should be no problem at all.

It truly seats seven. The 2017 GLS has ample elbow and headroom in all three seat rows. Even more reason to bring the grandparents along as babysitters for your next vacation.

The 2017 Mercedes GLS is flexible. It’s strong like a bull on the outside but inside there are numerous seat and cargo configuration opens that allow families to stow and store in ways that make the most sense for them.

You can get diagnostics on the go. The vehicle’s Remote Online services (standard with COMAND and usable free of charge for the first five years) allow access to vehicle information from anywhere at all times, including the status of windows and doors, mileage, tire pressures and other diagnostic data. Allowing your teen to borrow the car? You’ll know how many miles she’s putting on it before curfew.

Safety is a priority. Standard driver assistance systems include:

  • Collision Prevention Assist Plus
  • Crosswind Assist
  • Attention Assist
  • Pre-Safe
  • Brake Assist BAS
  • electronic all- wheel drive traction system 4ETS
  • ESP
  • cruise control.

The optional Driver Assistance Package includes Distronic Plus with Steering Assist, Pre-Safe Brake with pedestrian detection, BAS Plus with Cross- Traffic Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist and Speed Limit Assist. Additional options include the LED Intelligent Light System and Magic Vision Control.
