BMW Opens Vehicle Distribution Center at the Port of Galveston

It looks like more BMWs are headed to Texas. BMW Group has announced the official opening of its newest Vehicle Distribution Center at the Port of Galveston, which will serve 45 BMW and MINI dealers in the 5 states that make up BMW’s Southern Region.
BMW Group is expected to import approximately 32,500 vehicles through the Port annually, which represents an import value of nearly $1.3 Billion. BMW sees the Port as strategically important because its Southern Region is growing faster than any other region in the US, according to Stephan Reiff, Vice President, Aftersales, BMW of North America.
The 44,000 square foot space on 20 acres of land includes areas for vehicle inspection, accessory installation, vehicle programming, vehicle maintenance and storage.
